Nurses play an important role in the prevention, early detection and management of skin cancer in New Zealand.
The Nurses in Skin Cancer Special Interest Group aims to:
- Build a supportive community of nurses working in skin cancer care.
- Support nurses to grow their knowledge and expertise in skin cancer.
- Provide opportunities for learning and ongoing professional development.
- Promote best practice in skin cancer prevention, early detection and care.
Current priorities
The Special Interest Group is actively:
- Connecting and supporting nurses through a professional networking WhatsApp group for advice, knowledge sharing, and encouragement.
- Shaping the future of skin cancer nursing by developing a clear professional pathway.
- Growing expertise together with twice-yearly meetings focused on best practice and clinical excellence.
