This masterclass is designed to increase confidence in performing advanced skin surgery techniques suitable for a primary care setting.
Targeted at General Practitioners and other health professionals who are confident with common surgical procedures and are looking to take their skills to the next level, this interactive workshop will explore:
Important note: This workshop is theoretical in nature. No hands-on surgery will be conducted.
The cost of attending is $345 (including GST). Afternoon tea will be provided.
Summit attendance is not required to participate in this workshop.
Susan is a Nelson-based General and Endoscopic Surgeon who completed a fellowship at the Melanoma Institute Australia in 2009. She has been involved in the National Melanoma Working Group since its inception and has chaired the group since 2022. Susan also helped establish a publicly funded regional skin cancer service and contributes to multidisciplinary melanoma care, including referral triage and multidisciplinary meetings.
Dan is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon in the Bay of Plenty, working in both public and private practice. He trained in the UK, including a fellowship in head and neck and skin cancer management. His work focuses on advanced melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancer. Dan established and chairs the Bay of Plenty Skin Cancer Multidisciplinary Meeting and is a member of the National Melanoma Working Group.
Dr Marc Lawrence is an Auckland-based Consultant Dermatologist, Mohs Surgeon, and laser specialist. He practices at the Auckland Skin & Cancer Foundation, specialising in Mohs micrographic surgery and the management of complex skin cancers. Marc trained in New Zealand and the UK, including at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle. He is a Fellow of the New Zealand Dermatological Society and the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
All attendees will receive a certificate of attendance.
This masterclass has been endorsed by The Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners (RNZCGP) and approved for up to 6 CME credits for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) purposes. Credits for active RNZCGP Fellows will be uploaded automatically - please provide your MCNZ number during registration.
CME credits for all other attendees must be self-reported.
